This is the video for our TED talk, that this 20% time project has been leading up to since December. We were in our auditorium with the rest of our class, and a couple of other classes and teachers. We were one of about ten TED talks that went yesterday. The rest of the TED talks will go today. It was pretty successful, and we got a ton of orders for artwork. We hope you enjoy, and please don’t judge! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COmlFigCRR8

We have finished our first piece of artwork! It was completed this today, and was sold to our teacher for $30. We hope that this is the first step to a successful business. The money will go directly to Heifer, and their Integrated Livestock Program in Africa. We have also start practicing for our TED talk that will be this Thursday. We will hopefully post a video of it on our blog.

Gracie came up with a great idea to display our artwork. In our school there is a wall by the office. With our finished pieces we are planning on displaying them on that wall, along with the prices. We have just gotten our first order! Our teacher asked for an H painted light blue with corks glued onto it. I will post a picture of it when it is finished. We have also started writing the script for our TED talk.

We have now started preparing for our TED talk. A TED talk is when somebody goes up on stage and talks about basically whatever they want. In our case we are going to talk about Pictures for Africa, and what has been successful, and what hasn't. The first step to work towards this goal of getting up on stage and talking about our project is to write a script. Our teacher has given us a list of of questions for us to answer about our project. This will be the basis of our script.

We still have no news about our grant, but Gracie is making progress on the artwork, and I’m planning on taking pictures this weekend. Our plan for the pictures, is to blow them up, and printing them off, to be hung up on walls. Gracie sketched mostly abstract faces, and we haven’t decided yet, what we are going to do with them. Right now I’m looking around my neighborhood and city for inspiration, and possible pictures. I am also in the midst of creating our first logo. Here is a picture of a logo I have created, though it isn't permanent. If you have any suggestions please comment below.

We have very exciting news! We have applied for a grant through Pollination Project. Pollination Project is an organization that gives grants to projects that have an impact on the world. We applied for a $668 grant. We will know in 8-10 weeks whether or not our grant has been accepted. We have our fingers crossed that we will be accepted, so we can use the money to pay for art supplies.
